Our Story

Founded in 2018 by a group of passionate gaming enthusiasts and industry veterans, GameGrid Expo emerged from a simple yet powerful vision: to create a platform where Canada's vibrant gaming community could come together, celebrate innovation, and shape the future of interactive entertainment.

Our journey began when co-founders Jennifer Walsh, Marcus Chen, and Alexandra Rivera recognized a significant gap in the Canadian gaming landscape. While major gaming events thrived in other regions, Canada lacked a comprehensive exhibition that truly represented the diversity and creativity of its gaming ecosystem. What started as a small gathering in a Toronto community center has evolved into the nation's premier gaming exhibition, attracting over 25,000 visitors annually.

The inaugural GameGrid Expo in 2019 featured 45 exhibitors and welcomed 3,500 attendees over two days. Today, we proudly host more than 500 gaming companies, showcase cutting-edge technologies, and provide a platform for indie developers to launch their careers alongside established industry giants. Our growth reflects not just our dedication, but the incredible talent and innovation that defines Canada's gaming industry.

Through economic challenges, global uncertainties, and the evolving landscape of digital entertainment, GameGrid Expo has remained steadfast in our commitment to fostering creativity, building connections, and celebrating the artistry of game development. We've adapted our format to include virtual experiences, hybrid events, and year-round programming that keeps our community engaged beyond the annual exhibition.
